I’ve had my eye on it for a while, but it never quite made sense for how our family sleeps, so I haven’t bought or tried it.
For your family, though, I can see it being a game changer. You know those hotel rooms in Europe or Asia where the only bed is a king, queen or even a full/double, and suddenly everyone’s trying to squeeze in? A separate little sleep space could make that setup a lot more comfortable, provided the room has enough floor space and the hotel allows your family’s occupancy.
I also like the idea of bringing a bed and sheets that I’ve cleaned myself, rather than wondering about the hotel’s spare bedding. And something that deflates into its own travel bag is much more appealing to me than hauling a playpen around. The important distinction: this is a toddler bed, not a travel crib for a baby.
hiccapop lists an 8 lb weight and an inflated footprint of 62 × 39 inches, with an 11-inch height. It comes with a travel bag and electric pump and takes crib-sized sheets. I couldn’t confirm the packed dimensions from the official specifications, so I’d check those before deciding it fits in my luggage.
For Europe or Asia: I’d use one of those small but mighty rechargeable air pumps you can find on Amazon! Just check that it fits the bed’s valves and meets its inflation requirements, and that any charger is rated for your destination. The included hiccapop pump is for US use only.
The instructions say never to use it for children under 15 months. Use it only for a child ready for a toddler bed, on the floor and following the placement instructions to avoid entrapment gaps. Read the toddler-bed instructions.
