Worth checking before you buy

Use my referral code LILYBJEP in the Roamless app before making a qualifying purchase of at least US$5 within 30 days of signing up. You’ll get US$5 in Roamless credit, and I’ll get US$5 too.

The referral reward can’t be combined with a promo code on the same purchase. See Roamless’s current referral terms.

Referral terms checked 15 October 2026; offers and eligibility can change.

I’ve used Airalo in the past, but Roamless makes so much more sense to me. When I’m getting ready for a trip, setting up another eSIM is not something I want back on my to-do list. Don’t you just want to install it once and keep it ready for wherever you’re heading next?

That’s what I love about Roamless: one eSIM that stays on my phone and works across its supported destinations. Once it’s installed and the initial settings are sorted, I turn it on when I’m travelling, turn it off when I’m home and use the same one for the next trip. No deleting it and starting all over again. For the way I travel, Roamless wins by a mile.

Whether you buy a data plan for your destination or add credit and pay as you go, you use the same one eSIM that’s already installed on your phone. Choose whichever option makes sense for each trip—there’s no new eSIM to install when you switch between them. Unused pay-as-you-go credit doesn’t expire, so it’s there for next time; destination data plans have their own validity periods.

The calling feature has caught my attention, too. You can call regular phone numbers through the app using Wi-Fi or mobile data, and verify your own number so it shows up as caller ID. I haven’t tried this yet, but I can already think of the moments when it would come in handy: letting a restaurant know we’re running late, checking something with a local tour company or simply having another way to make a call when we need one.

A few details worth knowing

Before you go: check that your phone is unlocked and eSIM-compatible, and that Roamless covers your destination. Follow its setup guide, including the mobile-data and roaming settings.

For calls: you need an internet connection and pay-as-you-go credit; a data plan alone doesn’t cover the per-minute call charge. Check the rate in the app before calling.

For your number to show: you first need to have made a purchase, then verify your existing number in the app. This is outgoing caller ID; callbacks to that number still go through your usual mobile provider and may incur roaming charges. Receiving calls inside Roamless requires a separate paid Roamless Number.

I’m very happy to have one less thing to set up before every trip. If you are too, sign up already—and use LILYBJEP so we can both get a little credit towards our next trip.
