It’s the kind of thing worth keeping in the back of the car for those extra carpool rides with friends’ kids, without having a bulky spare booster taking up space all the time.
I bring it on trips, too. I like knowing I have my own clean booster, and having it with me makes rental cars, private transfers and rides with friends easier to plan where this seat is suitable and permitted. It’s particularly useful to think ahead when a city has strict child-seat requirements for private cars or rideshares.
Even somewhere with more relaxed rules, I still make a point of using an appropriate booster for my kids. This one takes so little effort to bring along and set up that it’s an easy yes for me. Minimal effort, maximum impact.
hiccapop lists a 40–110 lb child-weight range and compliance with US FMVSS 213, but says the UberBoost is not EU-certified. Use it only for a child who is ready for a booster and meets all the instructions supplied with the seat, with a lap-and-shoulder belt. Check local approval rules and vehicle requirements before relying on it abroad; taxi and private-car rules can differ.

Considering a vest for a younger child? See my RideSafer review. Don’t combine the RideSafer vest with this booster; the review links the tested booster pairing.
